Scottish Bible Society

Managing and developing the Scottish Bible Society (SBS) database as part of donor care operations and supporting other functions of SBS.  Working closely with the Head of Donor Care, the post-holder will be responsible for the overall database management as well as providing insight and analysis of our supporters, both individuals, churches and other Christian organisations.

The post-holder will have demonstrable experience of database management with a strong understanding of CRM and marketing principles, preferably in a charity setting. The post-holder will be someone who has an understanding of the different church communities in Scotland and can interpret and present analysis, working collaboratively with all parts of the organisation to help build the bigger picture as well as supporting targeted campaigns.

  • Demonstrable experience of database management (e.g., ThankQ or Raisers Edge) with a strong understanding of CRM and marketing principles, preferably in a charity setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of data segmentation.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications – particularly a friendly and approachable telephone manner when speaking with supporters.
  • Knowledge of MS office.
  • Experience of working proactively on own initiative, whilst working supportively as part of a team.
  • Ability to plan multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Understanding of the denominational church networks to be able to support the Head of Bible Engagement and the Community Partnership Manager in church relations.
  • Experienced in meeting deadlines successfully and working under pressure.
