At RMHG we provide short term residential accommodation and wellbeing support to families, carers/guardians of children who are receiving specialist treatment and care at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and other West of Scotland hospitals.

Our House is in the grounds of the world-renowned Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow providing a ‘home away from home’ environment for the parent/carers of children who are living with serious short term, complex or life-long conditions. Our support is invaluable to families at a critical time in their lives.

We fully understand the additional financial pressures caring for a sick child can bring and we help parents/carers have one less financial worry by providing our service free of charge.

The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow is Scotland’s largest children’s hospital and a centre of excellence for many paediatric conditions and surgeries including oncology, cardiology, cardiac surgery, renal medicine and bone marrow transplantation.

Our House is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has 31 ensuite bedrooms, and on average we directly support 500 families living across Scotland each year.

Our facilities also include shared laundry facilities, a library, three quiet lounges, a spacious garden and private parking. The large shared kitchen and dining area has an interactive soft play area for small children which is visible from across the room – allowing parents to cook family meals while siblings play. Crucially, every bedroom has a phone that is linked directly to their child’s ward, so parents can call or be called to the Hospital at a moment’s notice, no matter what time of day or night.

RMHG is an independent charity and whilst we are associated at arm’s length with Ronald McDonald Charities, both UK and globally we rely on the generous voluntary donations of our supporters to operate, maintain, and enhance the environment of our facility. Our independence enables us to evolve and adapt our services to meet the needs of the families who need and use our services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to join our team on our ambitious development journey as we scale up for success.

You will be a proactive and creative team member developing, working, and securing income from across the community and identifying new funding opportunities for RMHG. As a Manager you will work with key stakeholders and be responsible for the development and delivery of key high profile funding events across the year. In due course, there may be some line management of support/junior staff required.
