Childrens 1st

This is an exciting time for fundraising at Children 1st. In 2019 we launched our new fundraising strategy which is designed to inspire people in Scotland to put children first. Since then, despite the pandemic, we’ve successfully grown our income.

We’ve invested to create a centralised team who enable our fundraising staff and strive to deliver outstanding experiences to our supporters. This post plays a key role in efficiently processing income, managing data and generating insight to help us better understand our supporters.

You’ll be responsible for effective data management and regulatory compliance. You’ll be proactive in identifying ways to optimise our data capture, to improve our processes and you’ll work with finance colleagues on reconciliation.

Data management

  • Planning and implementing data strategies for activities, analysing data and regularly providing insights to the fundraising teams.
  • Responsibility for the day to day management and technical maintenance and development of RE, liaising with Blackbaud and other suppliers as necessary.
  • Managing external fundraising data systems ensuring integration with existing organisational systems.
  • Optimising Raiser’s Edge NXT to its full potential with modules and applications.
  • Carry out regular data cleansing adhering to the organisations data protection policy.
  • Manage any database projects for development or enhancement of RE.

Reporting

  • Lead on data analysis and in developing and implementing reporting tools, regular management information and campaign evaluation.
  • Provide insight on prospect pipelines using analytical tools and techniques.

Training

  • Develop, implement, communicate and regularly review database protocols and procedures and ensure staff are following them.
  • Develop and deliver an ongoing programme of training to all RE users.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for RE users.

Supporter Care

  • Support the development and implementation of supporter journeys.
  • Preparing data segments for importing and exporting for mass mailings, invitations, and email campaigns.

Finance

  • Ensure finance reconciliation process is completed each month within agreed timeframe.
  • Manage the set-up, documentation and maintenance of coding structures on RE to ensure effective data extraction, analysis and reporting across all fundraising.

Compliance and regulations

  • Responsible for adherence of regulations (GDPR, PECR, etc) and adhering to other standards set out by sector regulators.
  • Responsibility for keeping abreast of data protection regulation and the management of any future regulatory controls that are to be implemented.
  • Raise the profile of data protection issues regularly.

Any additional duties will normally be to cover unforeseen circumstances or changes in work, and will usually be compatible with the regular type of work.
