  • To lead on the development of effective legacy marketing, resulting in an increase of legacy income over time.
  • To build relationships with donors with effective supporter stewardship techniques.
  • To stabilise legacy income and forecasting by creating a pipeline of legacy pledgers.
  • To develop an In Memory giving product and marketing plan including a link to Legacy Marketing and stewardship.
  • Support the Planned Giving Manager to embed a culture of Legacy fundraising throughout the organisation.

The Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Planned Giving Manager to design and implement a strategy for this area of fundraising. This role will design and implement products and marketing plans that link in-memory gifts to legacy fundraising and stewardship. Using a mix of fundraising channels, you will build and retain a pool of legacy and in-memory prospects and supporters to ensure the long-term success of the programme.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we invest in developing this key area of fundraising for the charity. This is a new position within our recently established fundraising team.The role will provide ample opportunity for creative thinking and generating new ideas. You will be excited about the opportunity that gives to apply your experience and knowledge.

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject plus significant relevant experience of Legacy fundraising.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
  • Knowledge of Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and other relevant legislation including Health and Safety.

  • Proven track record of managing significant income through Legacy and In Memory fundraising.
  • Product development experience including research, budget and monitoring.
  • Delivering excellent donor stewardship.
  • Experience summarising complex issues in a concise and easily understood way.
  • Managing and reporting on income, progress against targets and KPIs.
  • Data analysis, management and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to build meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills including database management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an excellent standard of written English, in particular a clear and articulate, persuasive written style.
