About the role and you

We are looking for an experienced Planned Giving Manager who is passionate about fundraising from a variety of sources whilst delivering excellent supporter care.

You will lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of a variety of fundraising activities to increase income, retention and lifetime value of our donors. Working with ELHF and NHS Lothian colleagues you will implement stewardship and engagements tools.

This is a new post and you will be excited about the opportunity this brings to apply your experience and knowledge. This post will line manage a small diverse team and have overall accountability of our rapidly growing database of supporters.

As an NHS Charity we have seen a significant growth in our awareness, income and supporter base over the last 12 months; we have ambitions to utilise this potential to its fullest. We are at the beginning of our journey as a fundraising organisation and are looking for someone who has energy and enthusiasm that matches their level of experience.

This is one of several new positions within our newly established fundraising team and we will be recruiting other posts throughout 2021 and 2022. You will be reporting to the Head of Fundraising and work closely with colleagues throughout the charity and NHS Lothian.

To lead on the effective development, delivery and evaluation of a portfolio of Planned Giving Fundraising activity aimed at individuals including regular giving, cash giving, direct marketing, digital/online giving, legacy and in memory giving.

To increase sustainable income through increasing the acquisition, retention, and lifetime value of donations.

To implement and maintain a high level of donor stewardship and care.

To be responsible for the charity database and its integrity ensuring legislation and regulations are adhered to.

  • Educated to degree level plus significant relevant experience of fundraising from Individuals
    and Legacy Marketing.
  • Extensive experience operating at a senior level in a fundraising environment.
  • Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
  • Knowledge of Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and other relevant
    legislation including Health and Safety.
  • Experience summarising complex issues in a concise and easily understood way.
  • Experience of project management and working at both a programme level and on specific
    campaigns.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Significant experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills including delivering formal presentations,
    copywriting, proof-reading and ability to write press releases and respond to media requests.
  • Experience setting and reporting on KPIs.
  • Managing and reporting budgets.
  • Excellent IT skills including social media and other digital platforms.
